Atlas Fallen

Atlas Fallen sends us into the desert, and it’s anything but boring! Deck13 has succeeded in creating a unique and compelling game world with the help of sand. Pointed rock formations that tower far above the horizon, mysterious ruins, cities and scattered settlements – shrouded in sandstorms, they form a unique landscape waiting to be discovered.

The design is in the best Deck13 tradition, with its designs providing quite lavish details, especially for the characters, monsters and buildings. They manage to strike a balance between creating a bombastic style that can hold its own internationally and effectively communicating with all these elements, which requires the players’ attention, especially in the game world.

In addition, we as the jury were thrilled by the fast-paced surfing through the sand and the spectacular battles against the monsters, because Deck 13 does not skimp on visual eye candy, overlays, dust and lighting effects. However, these are never an end in themselves, but in conjunction with the brilliant and yet carefully timed animations, they create an extraordinarily dynamic gaming experience. As a jury, we were aware that combining this multitude of visual elements is a complex challenge that requires technical excellence, especially for a 3D game. Deck 13 has succeeded in doing this to a remarkable degree with Atlas Fallen.
