The German Computer Game Award (DCP) is the most important prize in the German games industry. As a joint initiative of the industry and the German Bundestag, the DCP has been awarded since 2009. Together with the German government, the German Games Industry Association ‘game’ awards the development of innovative computer and video games ‘made in Germany’.
High-ranking expert and main juries select the best games from Germany and honor the creative minds behind the games according to aspects such as fun, quality, and innovation as well as cultural and educational value.
The award office of the DCP is located at the Foundation for Digital Games Culture.
The award’s gala is sponsored by ‘Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg’ and the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs in alternating years.
