  • Does the submission cost anything?

    No, the submission is free of charge.

  • Is my game eligible for a submission?

    There are two requirements for a submission:

    • Digital games that have been released or will be released after the end of the submission phase of the previous award period and no later than the day of the award ceremony of this year’s award can be submitted. For 2025 the release date of the game must be between 19th January 2024 and 14th May 2025.
    • A game may only be submitted once. Re-submitting a game for subsequent editions of the award is not permitted.
    • The game must have been released internationally, i.e. in at least five of the world’s most important countries of the computer and video game industry or will be released in accordance with the provisions listed above. These countries include the United States, Japan, South Korea, China, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Russia, and Poland.
    • Every winning title of the German Game Award needs to have an age rating from the Entertainment Software Self-Regulation (USK). Please refer to the award office if your title does not have a German age rating yet. Only natural and legal persons who are entitled to the rights of use required for submission are entitled to submit entries.
  • How do I submit my game?

    Please write us an email containing the following information:

    • Title of the game
    • Name of the game development company
    • Name of the publishing company
    • 20 copies of the game (download codes are sufficient)

     

    Additionally, please provide the following material in form of links:

    • Cover art from the game in horizontal format
    • Trailer video
    • 10 minutes gameplay-footage

     

    We will then confirm your submission or let you know if there is anything missing.

  • What happens after my submission?

    High-ranking expert and main juries select the best games in each category.

  • Is there any prize money attached to the category ‘Best International Game’?

    No, there is no prize money for the category ‘Best International Game’. Winners receive a trophy (free of charge, shipping worldwide).
