Makis Adventure

In the 2D pixel art platformer Maki’s Adventure, we take on the role of Maki, the shark demon. He has inherited four magical shark teeth from his ancestors, which grant him the ability to transform into a shark. Maki’s real mission is to protect his world, but when the Demon King Octo escapes from the underworld and, with his minions, runs rampant, Maki stands no chance against him and is locked away in a dungeon. From there, an exciting journey begins through an imaginatively designed dungeon, populated not only by skeletal enemies and bosses, but also by iconic characters with interesting dialogue. Visually, the game is a feast for the eyes for fans of the pixel art style and certainly holds its own against similar titles such as Shovel Knight and the like. The finished game is set to feature four dungeons, each offering around 50 minutes of gameplay, with this prototype already containing the first complete dungeon. The Metroidvania-style levels invite exploration and offer a good mix of combat and platforming sections – and, of course, plenty of shark transformations.
