Mail Tail

Friendly games are all the rage. Mail Tail stands out from the crowd with its atmospheric and idyllic island world. It’s not just the islands that captivate us with their picture-postcard scenery; the characters are also well portrayed. A little fox arrives on the island, gets to know the local animals, cannot hold his tongue, and is promptly set about delivering the post. The eccentric yet friendly inhabitants leave a lasting first impression. Their weaknesses and conflicts are also brought into play in a very endearing, human way. Delivering letters feels more like a good excuse: we’re meant to travel the length and breadth of the archipelago. This is particularly fun because the 3D platformer controls are so well implemented and the paths wind their way from one viewpoint to the next. Mail Tail is already very intuitive to control. Discovering and exploring the world is fun, and it’s lovely to get lost. Plunging off high cliffs with the fox or gliding through the air with an umbrella remains thrilling. We find ourselves on the edge of our seats, hoping for a safe landing.
