Endzone – A World Apart

City Builders are among the most popular genres in gaming. As players, we usually build cosy medieval villages or colonise alien planets in a distant and fantastical future. Endzone: A World Apart takes us by surprise. It throws us into a world that instils fear: our own world – following a total nuclear collapse. Endzone challenges us to settle in a deliberately inhospitable environment. We dispose of nuclear waste, salvage metal from scrapped wrecks, purify drinking water and watch as, little by little, a new world emerges from the old. Endzone: A World Apart thus pulls off a rare balancing act: it frightens us – yet still gives us hope.
