Couch Monsters
In this prototype, two players take on the roles of cute monsters with the goal of reaching the next sofa together. Coordination and cooperation are essential, because whatever one monster eats, the other spits back out. This allows blocks to be teleported and physics-based puzzles to be solved through play. The prototype already features many wonderful ways to implement this game mechanic and feels very polished even at this stage. The visual presentation is also original, stylish, and clearly stands out from the mainstream. Above all, the self-explanatory, clever level design and the fact that in this co-op game you don’t just play side by side but truly play together is not only remarkable but also educationally valuable. This puzzle game made the jury laugh more than once and impressed in every area.
