AnotherWhere
AnotherWhere combines technical innovation with atmospheric world-building and impressed the expert jury with its professionally designed and cohesive concept.
In a vast metropolis reminiscent of Asian megacities, players must navigate, jump, climb and shimmy their way through urban canyons – even making use of the hostile machines patrolling the streets. The city districts are to be procedurally generated, thereby offering players ever-changing challenges. In their concept, the team demonstrated that they can generate the megacity using an effective workflow, whilst ensuring the setting retains a wealth of detail, thereby encouraging players to explore the city.
The machine creatures were designed to complement the vast urban labyrinth – robots assembled from scrap parts and reminiscent of sea creatures. Alongside all the technical refinements and opulent world-building, gameplay and player interaction always take centre stage: every enemy presents its own unique challenges and vulnerabilities.
The concept of exploring a metropolis inhabited by hostile machines left nothing to be desired and piqued the expert jury’s interest in the project.
