For years now, Dennis Winkens has been demonstrating through his dedication just how important inclusion is in gaming and why we all benefit from it. As a teenager, Dennis became a quadriplegic following a sports accident. On his channel, WheelyWorld, he gives us insights into how gaming works with a mouth controller. He educates viewers on the topic, patiently answers questions, and demonstrates in his streams that he’s every bit as good as his able-bodied opponents in online games. In this way, Dennis dispels prejudices and breaks down barriers. He does this primarily through his optimistic, humorous, and friendly demeanor.

But he doesn’t just invite viewers into his world—he also strives to set an example for greater inclusion in gaming. To that end, he gives interviews, speaks on panels, and participates in projects such as Gaming Without Borders and Aktion Mensch. Time and again, he raises awareness.
