Super Mario Odyssey takes players on a journey through a colourful cartoon world brimming with joy. By integrating surprising gameplay and graphical elements into the familiar, colourful universe, the latest Mario platformer successfully makes the leap into the modern era. Players travel through ever-changing worlds in their airship; the addition of extra details and real-world scenes amongst the typical Nintendo motifs surprises even die-hard fans of the series. By occasionally taking on the roles of supporting characters and antagonists, players can reach corners of the intricately detailed open-world levels that would otherwise be inaccessible to Mario. What lies hidden there, however, is less of a surprise: namely, a wealth of challenges, treasures and rewards, the discovery of which will keep players captivated for weeks and months.
