Penko Park
Although Ghostbutter clearly draws inspiration from games like Pokémon Snap and the nostalgia that comes with it, the team manages to give the concept a unique, personal touch. This is thanks to the unmistakable children’s-book-esque style and the world they’ve created—one that’s as distinctive as it is peculiar. Instead of playing it safe and relying on familiar creatures, the development team has created an original menagerie and filled it with wondrous beings of their own invention. The result is an easy-to-understand, intuitive game for all ages with a well-designed gameplay loop that never feels repetitive, despite intentional repetition.
