The Settlers Online

The Settlers Online is the browser game version of the long-established building strategy series. The aim of the game is to build a thriving settlement through resource extraction, trade and skilful planning. The main challenge lies in mastering and balancing the complex simulated infrastructure. For example, felled forests must be reforested, and grain must first be processed into flour at the mill before it is finally turned into bread at the bakery.

The great achievement of The Settlers Online is that, unlike in many other browser games, all the details of this game world are not calculated in the background but are displayed graphically. The game sets new technical standards in this regard and impressively demonstrates what is possible in a browser today.
