Code 7 – Episode 0: Allocation

Code 7 – Episode 0: Allocation is a dystopian science fiction adventure game for Mac, Linux, and PC. The jury was particularly impressed by the intelligent story and the exceptional execution, which are seamlessly intertwined. Code 7 draws on the tradition of text adventures in its design, placing players in the role of a hacker who must use a space station’s computer system and a human partner to uncover mysterious events taking place on the station. The result is immersive gameplay that quickly draws the player into the game world. However, Code 7 does not simply replicate the text adventures that were widespread in the 1980s; instead, it substantially advances the genre. This is achieved primarily through the integration of time-sensitive sequences and graphical content, which create a completely new gaming experience.

The clever storyline references current discussions on topics such as surveillance and artificial intelligence, which are particularly interesting and relevant to young people. Last but not least, Code 7 is also a successful example of the innovative model of a crowd-funded episodic game.
