A Juggler's Tale

In the fairy-tale-like adventure game A Juggler’s Tale, the ‘moral of the story’ isn’t simply laid out for us; instead, we have to discover it for ourselves through gameplay. The surprising message that emerges at the end of the game – to break free from a relationship of dependency and confidently forge your own path – is all the more powerful for this, and encourages younger players in particular to reflect on it. Accompanied by a wonderful narrator’s voice, we explore an atmospherically designed world as a little marionette and solve puzzles in which the strings from which the puppet hangs sometimes play a central role – a brilliant, creative idea that breathes new life into the gameplay. The thoroughly coherent result is all the more impressive because it was developed by a group of students.
