Shift Happens
Shift Happens’ cooperative two-player gameplay places the core mechanic of mass swapping at the center of a charmingly presented and consistently well-thought-out platformer featuring puzzle elements that seem simple at first but become increasingly tricky. The picturesque and varied themed sections feature diverse levels and offer a balanced learning curve for a broad audience. The challenge increases, especially in later worlds, ensuring long-lasting fun, as only the close cooperation between the two characters leads to success. The competitive aspect is deliberately de-emphasized in this game. The scope and high-quality execution are remarkable for an indie game. Although the game was specifically developed for two players, a single player can also take control of both characters and steer them comfortably and intuitively. Additionally, it’s possible to play the game cooperatively online.
Overall, Shift Happens is a compelling cooperative platformer that impresses with its well-thought-out design, varied levels, and likable characters.
