Blown Away: Secret of the Wind
Despite the story’s relatively minor role, the young hero Hendrik is a likable character. The enemies pose little threat to children, and even scary elements like saw blades are integrated into the game design as obstacles rather than dangers; thanks to the fair level design and frequent save points, Hendrik is never truly in danger. The difficulty level rises gradually as new gameplay elements are introduced, giving even newcomers to the genre plenty of time to get familiar with the mechanics. The jury was impressed by the game’s aesthetics, which blend seamlessly with the gameplay and highlight the game’s humor. Elementary school children, in particular, are sure to find themselves smiling time and again thanks to the design of the characters and enemies.
Overall, Blown Away: Secret of the Wind is a platformer with a likable protagonist that impresses with innovative controls, appealing aesthetics, and intelligent gameplay.
