Menschen auf der Flucht

The interactive exhibition Menschen auf der Flucht is designed to give students a firsthand experience of the issues of flight and displacement, along with all their consequences. Inside a lovingly designed truck equipped with interactive elements, visitors embark on a multimedia journey. Using an avatar of their own choosing, they experience the stages of fleeing a civil war-torn African country. Menschen auf der Flucht is worthy of recognition because its immersive nature makes the challenges and suffering of refugees emotionally relatable. In future phases of the project, the personal connection to one’s own avatar will be sustained through an interactive web platform and utilized for further learning experiences. The hands-on experience inside the truck is complemented by an educational program that can be integrated into classroom instruction. Menschen auf der Flucht by Serious Games Solutions makes the challenges and suffering of refugees emotionally relatable through its immersive nature.
