Symmetrain
Symmetrain, developed by Black-Pant Studios, is a game of observation, reaction and skill for iPad, iPod and iPhone (iOS 4.3).
In a top-down view, players move upwards along a vertical track in the centre of the screen through an attractively illustrated landscape. At first glance, rocks, trees and houses on the left-hand side of the track appear to be perfectly mirrored on the right-hand side. But wait a minute. Suddenly, a tree is missing on one side or a house on the other. The task is then to tap the empty space or the object that isn’t mirrored. What begins as a pure observation game evolves, as the screen moves ever more rapidly along the track, into a game that demands not only keen observation skills but also quick reflexes and dexterity.
The gameplay is equally suitable for young and old, and thanks to its ease of access and steadily increasing difficulty, it possesses a charm that’s hard to resist – particularly for a quick bit of fun in between other activities.
