Shadow Tactics – Blades of the Shogun

Shadow Tactics is set in Japan in 1615, when a new shogun is bringing peace to the land. To defend against conspiracies and uprisings, he recruits specialists with extraordinary abilities. The player takes on the role of these characters in various missions that are visually, auditory, and narratively very authentically immersed in the historical setting. All of the characters’ abilities are needed to overcome the challenging levels. This primarily involves skillful tactics, knowledge of the characters’ abilities, and understanding the opponents’ strategies. The real-time tactics genre is considered a hardcore genre, but Shadow Tactics manages to be both beginner-friendly and develop impressive gameplay depth through an accessible interface design, compelling level design, and a gradual increase in difficulty.
