In Season
In Season is a purely cooperative family game with a gardening theme that aims to optimise processes between players. In couch co-op mode, players must work together to grow plants, fertilise, water, harvest and deliver orders under time pressure. Tools such as shovels and watering cans are available for this purpose, as well as various seeds.
The painted gardener figures scurry back and forth in a small garden against cute watercolour backgrounds, carrying their tools or the finished crops from one place to another. After a short familiarisation phase, during which players can devise and practise a strategy, the small farm shop is opened to meet the neighbourhood’s demand for fresh vegetables or pretty flowers.
In Season is very well suited as a family game. As the rules are quickly understood, parents and children can effortlessly throw themselves into the chaotic cooperation and decide together how to divide up the work. Communication is very important here. Various instructions are tried out as a team and skills are practised in specific tasks. Adults and children who are experienced players can try out optimal strategies. In favour of the game principle, the theme is reduced to basic processes such as digging, sowing, watering, composting and fertilising, but younger children in particular can draw parallels with their own gardens.
